Briefs: Irish festival to feature music and more

Well known bands such as Gaelic Storm, the Glengarry Bhoys and Red Hand Paddy will highlight the Pittsburgh Irish Festival Sept. 5 to 7 at the Riverplex in West Homestead.

The 18th annual event is a three-day festival of Irish music, food and culture. Besides almost nonstop music, there are workshop, vendors and displays.

The festival will be from 4 p.m. to midnight Sept. 5, 11 a..m. to midnight Sept. 6, and 9 a.m., to 6 p.m. Sept 7.

Admission is $8 in advance, $10 at the gate; $8 for senior citizens and students; $5 for those in or retired from the military; $3 for children 3-12; and free for those younger than 3.
