The Mon Wharf parking lot will be closed on Friday as precaution because of a flood advisory calling for the Monongahela River to rise above 18 feet by afternoon because of runoff.
The river is expected to crest at 18.9 feet by Saturday morning and then fall below 18 feet by Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The Pittsburgh parking authority suggests motorists park in the First Avenue Garage or the Second Avenue Plaza.
The authority will issue an announcement when the wharf is scheduled to reopen.
