A Uniontown woman was a contestant on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire," and there will be a party to celebrate her appearance.
Heidi Ruby Miller, a student in Seton Hill University's Writing Popular Fiction master program, will be on episodes airing at 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday on WPXI-TV.
Because that's in the middle of the day, many people will not get to see the shows. So a viewing party is set for 5 p.m. Friday in room 206 of Seton Hill's Administration Building. It will be a chance to watch both episodes with Miller, her family, friends and members of the Seton Hill community.
"It's just a way for everybody to get together," said Becca Baker, associate director of media relations at the Greensburg school. "She's invited her family and friends to Seton Hill. It will be a celebration one way or another. It's just going to be a party."
The festivities are not open to the public.
Campus staff and employees, along with alumni of the Writing Popular Fiction program, are among the invited guests.
Baker said there will be a door prize given out after each question Miller answers correctly. The prize will have something to do with the theme of the question.
Dr. Michael Arnzen, an associate professor of English at Seton Hill, was one of Miller's phone-a-friends during her "Millionaire" appearance.
"We're absolutely thrilled," Baker said.
It's already quite a momentous week for Miller. She was to defend her thesis Monday night and was expected to graduate with her master's degree Wednesday.
The Writing Popular Fiction program teaches students to write marketable novels in genres such as mystery, romance, science fiction, horror and fantasy.
Miller, 33, is a 1991 graduate of Uniontown Area High School. Her husband, Jason -- who also is in Seton Hill's Writing Popular Fiction program -- was her on-air companion. She is the daughter of Albert and Sharon Ruby, of Smock.
Miller is not permitted to say how she did. That can only be learned by watching the episodes on Thursday and Friday.
"We're hoping she did well," Baker said.
