Two Kiski Area senior football players have committed to play at Division I-FCS schools. Quarterback Josh Vick is headed to New Hampshire, while tight end/linebacker Zack Murdock chose Cornell.
New Hampshire competes in the Colonial Athletic Association with Rhode Island, the 2007 NCAA Division I-FCS runner-up. Cornell is an Ivy League school.
Vick led the WPIAL in passing last season. He completed 143 of 248 passes for 2,110 yards and 14 touchdowns. A knee injury during his junior season seemed to affect the amount of attention he received from Division I colleges.
The 6-foot, 210-pound Murdock collected 146 tackles, including 91 solo stops. He also stood out at tight end and as a placekicker for the Cavaliers.
