A shooting this morning in Garfield left one man dead and another wounded, police said.
Officers were sent to the 5300 block of Cornwall Street at 1:49 a.m. on a call about a man who had been shot.
Police said Timothy Bottoms, 23, no address given, died at the scene despite efforts to help by many people who had gathered there.
A second man turned up in a local hospital with a gunshot wound in one leg. Police believe that man, a 20-year-old whose name was not released, might have been wounded in the same incident. He had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, police said.
No arrests have been made.
