A Fayette County church that had three air conditioners stolen over the weekend is willing to forgive the thieves if they come forward and make restitution.

Pastor Ewing Marietta of Liberty Baptist Church on Oliver Road in North Union said someone overturned a flowerpot, then stood on it to remove the window air conditioners. They tried to take a fourth air conditioner, Marietta said, but they couldn't retrieve it because it is bolted in place.

Marietta said the church will forgive the thieves if they come forward and make restitution. He estimates the church's loss, which includes damage to two window treatments, at approximately $1,100.

State police are conducting an investigation.
