The Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama is taking its latest production out of the theater and into the open air.

From today through April 26, the student company will perform two classic comedies of the 17th and 18th centuries -- Carlo Goldoni's "Servant of Two Masters" and Moliere's "Scapino."

The plays will be performed in revolving repertoire at outdoor locations at Hartwood Acres Park, SouthSide Works and Station Square as well as on the Carnegie Mellon University campus in Oakland.

The two comedy classics will retain the pratfalls, jokes and humor of the original plays but in updated adaptations that move them to 1930s Pittsburgh.

The performances are free to the public. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the Carnegie Mellon and Hartwood Acres performances, as seating will not be provided.

Performances of 'Scapino':

• 5:30 p.m. today and April 25 and 26 on the plaza in front of the Cheesecake Factory at 415 S. 27th St., South Side.

• 1 p.m. Saturday at Station Square, Carson Street at Smithfield Street Bridge, South Side.

• 4 p.m. April 19 at Hartwood Acres Park, near the mansion off Saxonburg Boulevard, Indiana Township.

Performances of 'Servant of Two Masters':

• 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Station Square.

• 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Morewood parking lot along Forbes Avenue near Morewood Avenue, Oakland, and 5:30 p.m. April 24 on The Cut, near the tennis courts on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University, 5000 Forbes Ave., Oakland.

• 1 p.m. April 19 at Hartwood Acres.

• Time to be determined April 26, on the plaza in front of the Cheesecake Factory.

Performance times are subject to change.
