Notebook: Injury bug hits NA again

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound McMillen, who rushed for 1,010 yards last year, was injured while being tackled after a long run toward the end of the scrimmage. He also had a 60-yard touchdown run earlier in the scrimmage. This is the third time in four years that North Allegheny has lost a key player in the first week of training camp.
Quarterback Matt Butler suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2001, and Dan Williams last year dislocated his ankle in the opening week of practice.
Central Catholic is also ranked No. 6 in the country in the Sporting News High School Football preseason preview.
Defending state champion Aliquippa is ranked atop Class AA by the Pennsylvania Football News to open the season. Monessen is No. 2 in Class A behind Southern Columbia, with defending WPIAL champion Springdale fifth.
At least five returning starters are either practicing hurt or missing time in training camp with injuries for Penn Hills.
Running back Ed Collington is out indefinitely with a separated shoulder, while the Indians' other top back, Kenny Lewis, is working through a hamstring injury. Offensive guard/defensive tackle David Fitzhenry suffered a concussion in practice last week and went for tests Monday. Senior wide receiver David Harvey missed Saturday's scrimmage with a groin injury, but coach Neil Gordon said he hoped to have Harvey back this week. Junior linebacker Archie Donald left the scrimmage with a hip injury and his status is still undetermined.
