UPJ presents 'A Celtic Christmas'

Tomaseen Foley's "A Celtic Christmas" will be performed at 8 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

In the loving recreation of night-before-Christmas festivities in Teampall an Ghleanntain, Foley's birthplace, neighbors gather with fiddles, uilleann pipes, penny whistles and bodhrans for a night of traditional music, dance and storytelling.

The show will feature the talents of storyteller Foley, Irish step-dancers Maire Clerkin and Kathleen Keane, instrumentalist and composer David Brewer, music director William Coulter, fiddler Deby Benton-Grosjean, and vocalist Moira Smiley.

Tickets are $23, with $20 discount tickets available for seniors, students under 18 and members of the UPJ community. They may be purchased by calling the ArtsLine at 800-846-2787 or at the box office, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at the box office an hour before performances.
