The 100-percent cotton fabric used to make this quilt is from The Vintage Christmas Collection's fabric and was reproduced by Mary Koval from her collection of 1870s quilts and fabrics.

The six center panels were cut from the Christmas outdoor family panel fabric and are cut 14 1/2 inches by 19 1/4 inches. The seam allowance is 1/4 inch. Two 1 1/2-inch wide strips of coordinating red fabrics and 1 1/2-inch wide strips of coordinating white print fabric with holly are combined to form segments around the Christmas panels.

Green print fabric 1 1/2-inch squares are placed on four corners of each segment to form four points of each star. Each 1 1/2-inch square becomes a triangle when sewn in place and the back layers of fabric are trimmed to 1/4 inch.

Green print 3 1/2-inch squares are the centers of each star and are placed onto the segments at each corner of the Christmas panel fabric.

The sashing strips with gold print fabric are cut 11/2 inches wide. The star points are 1 1/2-inch squares and are placed onto the gold print fabric strips. A 1 1/2-inch square of gold print fabric is placed on each corner of the completed gold strips.

The inside border with the blue print fabric with snowflakes is 11/2 inches wide. The outside border with the dark green printed fabric is 5 inches wide.

Twin size batting is used on the inside and 3 1/2 yards of brown Christmas outdoor children's print fabric is used on the back of the quilt. The binding is dark green printed fabric and is cut 2 1/2 inch wide.

Finished size is 61 1/2 inches by 89 1/2 inches.
