Miramax lines up 'Killshot'
Miramax has signed John Madden to direct its upcoming movie adaptation of Elmore Leonard's novel, "Killshot," Daily Variety reported Monday.
Madden was nominated for a directing Oscar for the 1998 Best Picture winner, "Shakespeare in Love." His credits also include "Mrs. Brown" and "Captain Corelli's Mandolin."
"Killshot" is the story of a working class couple who go on the run after witnessing a shakedown in a real estate office and administering a beating to the thugs with a tire iron.
Hossein Amini is adapting Leonard's book for the screen. Amini was nominated for an Oscar in 1997 for his adaptation of the Henry James novel, "The Wings of the Dove."
