Women's roundup: Monsac leads RMU over Mount St. Mary's

Sugiery Monsac scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Robbert Morris (17-7, 12-3) defeat Mount St. Mary's (7-16, 6-8), 67-63, in Northeast Conference play. LaToya Butler scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Tiffany Green scored a team-high 20 points for the Mount.

West Virginia 61, Pitt 55 -- Meg Bulger scored 16 points to lead West Virginia (14-9, 5-7) to a victory over Big East rival Pitt (11-12, 3-9). Mercedes Walker led the Panthers with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Pitt led, 55-50, with 1:52 remaining when the Mountaineers used an 11-0 run to pull off the victory.

Wheeling Jesuit 78, Pitt-Johnstown 71 -- Katie Repicky scored 26 points, 19 in the first half, to lead Wheeling Jesuit (16-6) to a victory over Pitt-Johnstown (18-5). Lauren Hansen and Jenna Johnson added 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Cardinals. Melissa Patterson led the Lady Cats with 26 points in the losing effort.

Edinboro 77, Indiana, Pa. 63 -- Danielle Lantzy scored 18 points to help Edinboro (17-7, 4-5) defeat Indiana (9-16, 2-8) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. Callie Iorfido scored 14 points, and Jessi Montie added 13 points for the Fighting Scots. Kara Taylor and Mame Brumbaugh each scored 15 points and Molly Miller grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Indians.

Clarion 64, Slippery Rock 51 -- Melba Melton scored 19 points to help Clarion (20-4, 8-1) defeat Slippery Rock (9-16, 3-7) in PSAC action and record their first 20-win season since 1994. Shay Godwin scored 15 points, and Heather Cigich added a double-double, 11 points and 13 rebounds, for the Golden Eagles. Stacey Green led the Rock with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Grove City 79, Thiel 67 -- Abby Moose scored 20 points, and Jocelyn Kempema chipped in 16 points for Grove City (15-8, 7-2) in a win against Thiel (6-18, 2-7). Fontella Jones and Kristen Benjamin both scored 15 points for the Tomcats in the losing effort.

Shippensburg 67, Lock Haven 50 -- Megan Fogle scored 20 points, and Kim Strickland added a double-double, 12 points and 13 rebounds, to help Shippensburg (15-8, 6-3) defeat Lock Haven (4-21, 2-8) in a PSAC game. Ginger Williams scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Candace Sillers chipped in 13 points for the Bald Eagles in the losing effort.

Washington & Jefferson 59, Westminster 47 -- Lauren Slampak and Dayna Greenfield each scored 16 points in a Washtington & Jefferson (19-5, 7-2) win against Westminster (16-7, 6-3) in a PAC game. Mary Jane Eaton led the Lady Titans with 16 points, and Erica Tallo scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Waynesburg 62, Bethany 57 -- Katie Lewandowski scored 18 points, and Rachel Dillon added 16 points for Waynesburg (10-12, 1-8) in a win against Bethany (9-14, 4-5) in PAC action. Nikki Babik scored a game-high 25 points for the Bison.
