Man charged with assaulting ice cream man
State police in Uniontown charged a Farmington man Saturday with attacking the driver of an ice cream truck in South Union five months ago.
Trooper Juan Curry said Jacob Randall Springer, 22, was driving a vehicle May 29 when he cut off the truck, driven by Bernard Joseph Geisel Jr., 23, of California. Police said the men exited their vehicles and Springer assaulted Geisel. On Oct. 20, Springer was questioned and he confessed, Curry said.
Springer was charged with simple assault, harassment, driving with a suspended or revoked license and reckless driving, Curry said. He is in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $1,000 straight cash bond, Curry said. A preliminary hearing is slated for Oct. 27.
