BASF named Dr. Uwe Liebelt head of the company's Inorganics business group in North America, based in Evans City. He is responsible for the company's Inorganics value chain and organization in North America that includes a highly sophisticated research and development and production hub in Evans City. Dr. Liebelt joined BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Germany, in 1996, as head of a team in Ludwigshafen, working for BASF's global environmental process development unit. Previously, he served in BASF's functional-polymers global operating division as director for controlling and strategy.
Banking and finance
Sallie Mae named Patricia McCarthy account executive for Western Pennsylvania. She builds and maintains relationships with Western Pennsylvania colleges and universities and increases awareness of Sallie Mae products and services among students and their parents. McCarthy has 16 years of higher education administration experience. Previously, she was interim director of financial aid at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP named Cary M. Falchetti a senior consultant in the Technology Services Group, Frances I. Huerbin to the administrative team, Monica Rodacy-Boone and Kevin M. Mentel associates in the Tax Service Group, John J. Smith, Jason P. Hardy, Lynsey A. Caranese and Seth J. Pokoj staff accountants in the Assurance & Advisory Group, and Elizabeth H. Anderson a senior accountant in the Assurance & Advisory Group. Falchetti has 25 years of IT experience and Huerbin brings 20 years of experience to the company. Rodacy-Boone has 16 years of employee benefit plan experience and holds the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation. Mentel has four years of public accounting experience and previously worked with a regional accounting firm in Virginia. Caranese has a year of public accounting experience and Pokoj has four years of previous government and public accounting experience. Marshall J. "Jeff" Tindall and Deborah A. Kane joined Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP. Tindall leads the firm's new complex dispute resolution and mediation practice. He has 23 years' experience and is a counselor and advocate for the Pennsylvania hospital community. Tindall represents insurance carriers, their insureds, agents and employees in all types of claims and litigation. He also is experienced in representing clients in property damage, environmental issues, and personal and economic injury. Kane represents defendants in a variety of employment, commercial and general civil matters. Her practice includes representation of employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies, as well as counseling employers with respect to compliance with state and federal law, drafting employment-related agreements and policies, and advising clients in the handling of employment-related issues. She has seven years of employment and commercial litigation matters experience.
Dell, Moser, Lane & Loughney, LLC named Brad D. Trust, George A. Power and Scott A. Matthews partners. Trust concentrates his practice in general litigation; Power, in worker's compensation; and Matthews, in general litigation and asbestos litigation. Previously, all three were associates with the firm.

Cargas Systems named Stephanie Schreyer a solutions consultant in the human resources solutions area. She is responsible for new business development, project management and go-to-market planning for new human resources software products. Schreyer has 15 years of sales, customer service and project management experience.
Other
SRI Quality System Registrar named Christopher H. Lake president and chief operating officer. He has a 20-year career in marketing, sales and quality that started at Motorola during its launch of Six Sigma and Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award achievements. Lake has been on the board of directors since 1996 and joined the company full-time in 2005 as vice president of marketing and sales.
The Olive Garden Italian Restaurant named Judd Moorhead general manager of the new restaurant located at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer. Moorhead has been with the company for 16 years and previously was general manager of the Greensburg location.
Hilb Rogal & Hobbs named Michael Boyd director of employee benefits consulting. He has 17 years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Boyd joined the company in 2004 as vice president responsible for consultation on the design, implementation, administrative and management of employee benefits for new and existing clients.
