Northwest Savings Bank named Jerome J. Savoroski Jr. manager of its Kennedy Center office in McKees Rocks. He is responsible for mortgage, consumer and small business lending, development of savings and checking account relationships, administration of bank policy and procedures, supervision of the bank's office staff, and customer and community relations. Savoroski also works with Northwest's Commercial Lending, Business Services, Investment Management and Trust, and Brokerage service units. He joined the bank in April 2003 and recently was assistant manager of the bank's downtown Warren main office.

Hicks joined the firm in 1987 and his civil litigation practice includes experience in state and federal courts throughout the Atlantic coast and the Midwest.

Ten United named Gary Doughty chief financial officer in its Pittsburgh office. He manages the finance and accounting teams for the agency's three offices in Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh and Orlando, Fla. With his promotion, Doughty became part of the agency's Executive Committee. Previously, he was senior vice president of finance for the agency.
Jennifer Cramer joined Apple Box Studios as a part-time graphic designer. She designs communication projects including print and interactive initiatives. Previously, Cramer was a marketing specialist for Clearview Federal Credit Union.
Education
The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine named Dr. David L. Bartlett its inaugural Dr. Bernard Fisher Professor of Surgery. He is a professor of surgery and chief of the division of surgical oncology at the school. The professorship is named in honor of Dr. Bernard Fisher, Distinguished Service Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine, who has made significant contributions to the treatment and understanding of breast cancer. Dr. Bartlett is also director of the David C. Koch Regional Perfusion Cancer Therapy Center at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. He has been a member of the school's faculty since October 2001 and was installed in conjunction with this year's Bernard Fisher Lecture.

William F. Scherfel Jr. was elected a board member of Southwinds Inc. He is a managing partner of Temporary Personnel Services, Inc.
The Western Pennsylvania Chapter for the American Liver Foundation and the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater elected Michael J. Roeschenthaler to the board of directors. He is an associate in the Pittsburgh office of McGuire Woods LLP and focuses his practice on bankruptcy, business restructuring, insolvency, and creditors rights.

John Lucey joined HDR as national director of industrial water and wastewater in their Downtown Pittsburgh office. He is responsible for strategic planning and overall development of the company's industrial water and wastewater business, and developing municipal water and wastewater design build projects in the eastern United States. Previously, Lucey was president of Chester Engineers, then, after its acquisition by USFilter, was executive vice president, general manager of USFilter Engineering & Construction.

Steven Glenn was named the 2005 Hoppy Award winner by St. Barnabas Health System. A maintenance supervisor at Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, he was nominated by his co-workers. The award, which is named for the late Ralph L. Blessley, who was a former patient of St. Barnabas, recognizes work ethic.
