PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Bryant McAllister

West Mifllin, 6-foot-3, Sr., Guard

Notable: This Duquesne recruit is the Trib's Player of the Year. Beats defenders off the dribble with a quick first step and low crossover. Has a nice mid-range jumper complemented by abiilty to make 3-pointers. A three-year starter who averaged 20.7 points, 5.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game this season to lead Titans to a 22-8 record and a share of the Section 4-AAA title. Had best all-around game in PIAA Class AAA Western Final, with 27 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, to lead the Titans to the PIAA finals for the first time in school history. Finished his career as West Mifflin's all-time leading scorer with 1,514 points.

Jerome Corbett

Duquesne, 6-foot, Sr., Guard

Notable: Two-time Trib Class A Player of the Year led Duquesne to the WPIAL finals, scoring 34 points in the 77-72 overtime loss to Monessen. Extremely quick, with ability to drive to the basket and shoot outside. Averaged 20.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 3.5 assists per game. Three-year starter who finished career with 1,538 points, second in Duquesne history to Kevin Price (2,638).

Adam DiMichele

So-Rox, 6-foot-1, So., Guard

Notable: This tough point guard displayed great leadership in guiding the Vikings to a 28-2 record, back-to-back WPIAL Class AA championships and a PIAA finals appearance. A distributor with great court vision, can take over a game and score when necessary. Averaged 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game. A talented three-sport athlete, also is a standout quarterback and pitcher/shortstop.

Dom Joseph

New Castle, 6-foot-2, Sr., Forward

Notable: Versatile inside-outside player was a three-year starter who led the Red Hurricanes (30-2) to an undefeated regular-season and Section 3-AAAA title. Averaged 17.8 points and seven rebounds, with best of 29 points, 13 rebounds against Beaver Falls to win MVP of Blackhawk Christmas Tournament final. Became seventh player in New Castle history to score 1,000 points in his career.

Terrance Vaughns

Uniontown, 5-foot-11, Sr., Guard

Notable: Sharpshooter averaged 19 points per game and made 92 percent of his free throws to lead Red Raiders to a 30-2 record. Scored 23 points, including two free throws with 5.1 seconds left, to lead Uniontown to its first WPIAL Class AAAA championship since 1981. A three-year starter and four-year letterman who twice led Red Raiders to PIAA finals. Finished his career with 1,721 points.

Jerry Harness

Chartiers Valley, 6-foot-2, Jr., Guard

Notable: The smooth shooting guard, a two-year starter and three-year letterman, led the Colts in scoring at 18.7 points per game and surpassed 1,000 career points this season. Also averaged 6.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.2 steals. The lone returning starter from the 2001 WPIAL Class AAAA champion, developed into a leader for the Colts (21-4), who won a share of Section 5-AAAA title.

Brandon Jackson

Monessen, 6-foot-3, Sr., Guard

Notable: Powerful player who guided the Greyhounds to back-to-back WPIAL Class A championships. Averaged 22 points per game to lead Monessen to 25-6 record. Had 21 points, 10 rebounds, three dunks and two steals in PIAA first-round win over McConnellsburg. Surpassed 1,000-point mark this season. Also an All-Class A receiver who could opt to play football in college.

Dierre Jenkins

Uniontown, 6-foot-1, Sr., Guard

Notable: Three-year starter is a terrific two-way player who averaged 15 points, per game and was one of WPIAL's top defenders. Scored 27 points (ITAL) in the first half (ITAL) against Canon-McMillan. One of three 1,000-point scorers for Uniontown, along with Terrance Vaughns and Chris Jacobs. Also a standout receiver/defensive back who could play football in college.

Dale Meinbresse

Upper St. Clair, 6-foot-3, Jr., Guard/Forward

Notable: Athletic player who can score from the outside or by slashing to the basket. Averaged 17 points per game for the Panthers (22-5), the Section 5-AAAA co-champions. Scored 32 points in a Section 5-AAAA game against Mt. Lebanon, 31 in WPIAL first-round game against Greensburg Salem. A strong defender and solid rebounder, has developed into a Division I prospect.

Joey Tutchstone

Kiski Area, 6-foot-3, Sr., Guard

Notable: Three-year starter at point guard made great strides this season, helping the Cavaliers reach the WPIAL Class AAAA semifinals. Athletic guard was the playmaker for the highest-scoring offense in Quad A, with all five starters averaging in double figures. Led the Cavaliers to a 22-6 record, scoring ith 18.8 points per game and went over 1,000 points for his career.
