Background: A native of Big Run in Jefferson County, Lawrence plays outside linebacker for the Colonials and has kept a nearly perfect grade-point average. In January, he was named the Northeast Conference's outstanding football scholar-athlete.
Noteworthy: Lawrence was a semifinalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy by the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame and is endowed by HealthSouth honoring the nation's top scholar-athletes.
