Georgia Tech upsets Duke
Duke (13-3, 0-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) lost its second straight, failing to bounce back from a shocking home loss to Virginia Tech, and is off to its worst start in the ACC since 1996.
That same season was also the last time Georgia Tech (12-4, 1-2 ACC) had defeated the Blue Devils at Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Duke won 21 of 22 over its conference rival, including five straight, before a loss that sent the Georgia Tech student body charging onto the court.

In Chicago, Josh Mayo scored 19 points and hit a big 3-pointer in overtime to lead the University of Illinois-Chicago to its second win over a ranked team.

In Nashville, Tenn., Shan Foster scored on a putback as time expired, and Vanderbilt snapped Tennessee's nine-game winning streak.
Marquette 73, No. 24 Connecticut 69
In Storrs, Conn., Ousman Barro had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Marquette used a 16-2 second-half run to snap the Huskies' 31-game home winning streak.

In Austin, Texas, Kevin Durant scored 34 points, and the Longhorns ran their winning streak over Missouri to nine, sending the Tigers to an 0-2 start in the Big 12 under first-year coach Mike Anderson.

Five players scored in double figures, led by James Cooper with 25, as Wooster (12-2, 5-0) defeated host Allegheny (6-7, 2-3) in an NCAC contest.

Kyle Goldkamp scored 19 points, while Dwight Hines and Chris Gilliam tallied 14 apiece, to lead Pitt-Johnstown (9-5) to a home non-conference victory over Indiana (Pa.) (2-8).

Katrina Greer recorded 18 points and April Gratton (Bethel Park) chipped in with 17 to lead Clarion (5-8, 1-0) to an upset PSAC West win over California (Pa.) (9-4, 0-1).

Using a 48-27 rebounding advantage, Thomas More (11-2, 2-0) dominated PAC counterpart Bethany (W.Va.) (5-7, 2-1). Bethany forward Courtney Irwin led the team with 12 points in the loss.

Jess Winemiller scored a game-high 16 points, but Juniata (10-4, 1-2) could not hold an eight-point halftime lead and lost a Commonwealth Conference matchup to Susquehanna (11-3, 2-1).
Carnegie Mellon 77, Chatham 49
Carnegie Mellon (6-7) head coach Gerri Seidle earned her 250th career victory with a non-conference win at Chatham (2-12). Carnegie Mellon sophomore Ashley Rothwell missed a triple-double with nine points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Washington & Jefferson 64, Waynesburg 50
Ten players scored at least two points as Washington & Jefferson (8-6, 1-1) defeated PAC counterpart Waynesburg (6-7, 1-2) for the 19th consecutive time.
Westminster (Pa.) 67, St. Vincent 51
Emilee Ackerman had 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists as Westminster (Pa.) (9-4) defeated non-conference opponent St. Vincent (3-8).
