GCC tennis team falls in state playoffs
Greensburg Central Catholic's stay in the PIAA Class AA team tennis championships was a short one.
District 1 champion Harriton eliminated the WPIAL's third-place team, 5-0, on Friday at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Harriton advanced to the semifinals at 10:30 a.m. today, when it will meet WPIAL champion Sewickley Academy.
Sewickley Academy 5, Bishop Guilfoyle 0 -- Sewickley Academy put on an impressive performance in its quarterfinal game.
Aimee Fadden and Caroline Ross won their doubles match, 6-0, 6-0.
Sewickley Academy will face Harriton in the semifinals at 10:30 a.m. today.
