Steelers outside linebacker Joey Porter should expect to hear from the NFL after he referred to Browns tight end Kellen Winslow as a slur that is associated with a person's sexual orientation Thursday night.

The Steelers beat the Browns 27-7 at Heinz Field and afterward Porter was still fuming about a play in which Winslow got called for a personal foul for a late hit on Steelers linebacker James Farrior.

It happened in the fourth quarter.

"It was late, that's what (slur) do," Porter said. "He's soft. He wants to be tough but he's really soft."

Porter refused to shake hands with Winslow before and after the game.

"We're not friends," Porter said. "He's out there talking mess during the game and trying to get late hits and acting like he did something good. You don't get praise for trying to hit someone late."

Winslow was aware of Porter's comments but he declined to comment, a Browns spokesperson said.

Porter got fined $15,000 earlier this season for something he said to one of the members of an officiating crew.

It happened after a play in the Steelers' 20-13 loss at Oakland. Porter drew a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct and later got fined.

He was critical of the NFL for fining him.

NFL spokesman Steve Alic said, "the comments are being reviewed" by the league.
