Football faves to help at reading night
Two former Kiski Area High School athletes will participate in Family Reading Night at Vandergrift Elementary School.
Scott McKillop, who plays for the San Francisco 49ers, will be a guest reader at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the school. McKillop, who also participated two years ago while a student at the University of Pittsburgh, will be signing autographs and posing for pictures.
Adam Gunn will be the guest reader at 6 p.m. March 10. Gunn, who recently concluded his football career at the University of Pittsburgh, is a hopeful candidate for the NFL.
Family Reading Night is sponsored by the PTO and is open to students and families who attend Vandergrift and Laurel Point elementary schools. For information, call Vandergrift Elementary at 724-567-6706.
There will be an Infant CPR and Safety Class from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at Alle-Kiski Medical Center's Destination Wellness at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.
This class is recommended for parents and caregivers. It includes emergency care of a choking infant or child, infant/child CPR techniques and safety and car-seat safety.
